The following op was played on my wife and I at O'Hare in Chicago before boarding for our flight home, together. 

Performed right in open public, in front of air travelers, the stewardess, the staff at the kiosk in the terminal and seating area! Enter, man with large roller luggage. He deliberately leaves his luggage next to me and my wife where we are sitting while waiting for our flight home. I get my wife to bring the abandoned luggage to the attention of the stewardess at the kiosk. We move to a new seating location there. Then, we're bumped to another terminal. With little or no time we're told to get there, we rush to location number 2 after getting directions. We arrive and confirm we're at the right terminal and the time of our new departure. We sit down, blow off the run stress, and worry about the weather or another bumped flight.

All the sudden, enter, Mr. Luggage Man, again. Next to me. Leaves his luggage. I have my wife bring it to the attention of the stewardess at the kiosk of location 2 that he did the same thing at location number 1. All the sudden, minutes later. We're given the choice of my wife or I giving up a seat to fly only one of us home on the only seat available on this flight. I want my wife to take the first flight. So, now my wifes boarding for home and I'm redirected to the opposite end of O'hare for my flight, if I hurry. I'm told, I could catch another flight about to leave at the other end of the terminal, and arrive a few minutes before my wife's flight. If I get there fast enough. 

So, I attempt to run my ass off and get there to hear the flights delayed, first 20 minutes, then 30, then 45 to and hour. Mr. Luggage shows up, again. He pulls the same shit, but this time he tells me, that he'll be right there at that pay phone. I won't have to watch his luggage while he makes a phone call from the phone directly in front of us, behind the seats across from me, on the wall. He gets up, makes his call, turns to look at me and say's, he's gotta use the can dude, he'll be right back, promise. I said, I can't do this, and it's illegal. That's what they're saying over the P.A.. He said fine, don't watch it and goes anyway and stays gone for 3 hours. The flights, delayed. When he comes back, I'm sitting away from his luggage and he still comes up to me and say's. He had to stop and have a couple. He's sorry, he just can't fly without topping off. While he was gone, this is the drama that unfolds.

Two men, in jump suits, wearing hard hats with face visors, are carrying a 10 to 12 inch long by 3 to 4 inch round metallic cylinder with a red tag on the valve, on a miniature gurney. They walk through the seating area past us passengers, past the stewardess at the kiosk, down the gangway and on to the jet. I ask the stewardess from amongst the other passengers, what's with the two guys in jump suits and hard hats and what's with the tank on the gurney? Is the craft being repaired? Is, this common procedure? Have you seen them change a cylinder canister like that before? Here's some observations that ran through my adrenaline. Is that the fuel tank? It won't make me sleepy, will it? If the jets on autopilot who has the joystick? Why Langley? Probably safer than those at pent-up-gon-postal, huh? Maybe not!

The stewardess said she didn't know. They were cleared by the captain. Ok, I walk up to the kiosk and ask the stewardess about my concerns about Mr. abandoned luggage guy from location number 1, 2 and now here, and about the guys still on the jet with the mysterious metal cylinder. The Pilot arrives and steps to me at the kiosk and says, he's gonna look into my concerns about the canister guys. I said the stewardess said you cleared the cylinder. Was it a CO2 for cola or something? He said no. I'll get right back to you and he left and boarded his jet.Yikes!  A coincidence? O'hare's Air Boss comes walking down through the terminal from the farthest extremity with what seems to be reporters tagging along with him. I motion the need to speak to him via his attache. The Boss briefed by his attache walks up to me, does his introduction and I relate the concerns I and the other passengers are having about the events that I and my wife have suffered this travel day with Mr. Luggage and about the guys on board my flight home jet doing something with a metal cylinder they carried on board on a gurney. That sent him to the kiosk to confirm my query with the flight Captain and Stewardess standing there. He confirmed my observations through them returned and I charged him to put 2 and 2 together and see what he comes up with that, he'd be comfortable with.

The Boss returns and tells me the cylinder is being removed at the tarmac level below, and to trust him. Every things gonna be alright . I told him, I need a boarding confidence deal. I'll board this flight,  if all the guys in this op, board to!  You tell'em, they're gonna have to board or I'm not gettin on that flight! He did, and he told their handler, they boarded, and while we were walking down the gangway I placed a hand on Mr. Luggage's shoulder, and told him, glad you and your buddy had the kahunnas to get on board and take one for the team. I was never given any explanation about the cylinder drama! I did see paranoia in the eyes of the Big Boss of O'Hare's when he parlayed my counter boarding instructions. I promised I'd make a Federal case to the F.B.I. right then of this and I stated my disgust of the whole situation that has developed into my perceptions of an air safety violation. My astonishment is the latitude they use, to fuck with people's lives, including mine, in the light of day, in broad public, under everyones noses, just as terrorist would, and unencumbered! 

When I finally got on board I found my seat cushion in the seat next to mine with the styrofoam impression the size and shape like the cylinder. Underneath, my seat was out of the tracked that held it to the floor on either side. There were open wires routed from the left armrest hanging out the bottom underneath the armrest and that foam was loose. The whole bench rocked forward and backwards during takeoff, climb and landing. I can honestly say, the "general public" was absolutely docile and oblivious to the complete event like lemmings except for a couple of people who witnessed my inquiries. I'll never get over the- ""blatant bourgeois, and deadly scenario" they played, while pulling this off!
