Actually, the problem our country is enduring right now is placed directly upon the shoulders of Republicans. Over de-regulation during conservative power caused the financial crisis and the downturn in our economy. No one was watching the banking system and how loans were being distributed, both residential and commercial. Another huge factor is under the Bush/Cheney administration we went to war to avenge Bush's father, not to get who was responsible. Let's not forget there was never a plan to fund the war. The combination of these two things - infation of values due to banking structure and the national debt due mainly to unfunded wars is why we are where we are.
