I watched a show while ago called 1969. Tom Brokaw i think in a documentary about 3 assassinations in a short period of time. Jfk, Bfk, and Martin Luther King Jr. In the show they assert that the morale of the country dive bombed after these events. At the time i didn't agree, also being 12 at that time and my dad being the dad he was didn't discuss any of them.
However after the Iraq war, and bank and wall street bail outs, and immigration reform etc. it does seem the 99% are impudent. We could vote in a reformer if we wanted but find a reason not to.
Too oppressed/programmed by the television is how i see it. While 911 and the Iraq war etc have awakened people to corruption the will to change is nil.
Also if the "bad guys" are willing to kill people that don't tow their line then the stakes are higher than before. Will we go to the next level and be willing to kill or be killed for our beliefs? That is the question as i see it. Or at least be willing to wear a bullet proof vest...
