FOW, goo'd money that protesting!- Pepper Spraying Victims To Receive Nearly $1 Million Settlement

The University of California system announced Wednesday they will pay $30,000 in damages to each of the 21 students and alumni who were sprayed at a peaceful protest against budget cuts and tuition hikes last November.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, which represents the victims, and the UC submitted the settlement for approval by a federal court this week, KCRA reports.

The total settlement reaches nearly $1 million: $30,000 to each victim, $250,000 in attorneys fees and a requirement for UC to set aside $100,000 for anyone else who can prove their were harmed or arrested during the incident.

That is not even enough to pay their tuition for the four years. At least do that.

30k per student? Wow.That might even cover the full cost of their text books.

It is horrible, but that's a nice chunk of change for any student struggling with tuition. So, there was some great good out of this along with the bad.
