Donald Trump Sues Bill Maher for $5 Million Over Ape Bet

Just in time to call attention to “Celebrity Apprentice,” Donald Trump is back in the news, this time he is suing Bill Maher for a cool $5 million.
The lawsuit stems from a comment Maher made while on “The Tonight Show,” in which Maher said he would donate $5 million to charity if Trump could prove he isn’t the spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.
Trump later responded with a copy of his birth certificate showing that he was the son of Fred Trump who was, in fact, not an ape. Now the billionaire wants the comedian to pay up.
“I don’t know whether this case will be won or lost, but I felt a major obligation to bring it on behalf of the charities,” Trump said in a public statement published by Politico.
Trump went on to say that he wants to donate the money to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, Hurricane Sandy Victims, March of Dimes and the Police Athletic League.
