FOW- RE: The Federal Governments 1st attempt at gun confiscation

No, I got my information from primary sources being a history major. I didn't get my information from popular novels like "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" which you did. The event was sad but it was not a staged pay back for the Little Big Horn as you say. It was a screw up. When the military screws up, they issue medals. It is nothing new and goes on all the time and probably always will.

BTW, the Sioux warriors DID retreat into the camp with the women and children and fired on the soldiers. That is a fact. Whether the soldiers should have fired back is debatable. In retrospect they should have pulled back and let the situation cool down. It is easy to say that over a hundred years later but the fear factor was still great less than a decade and half after the great Sioux wars.

This is what you said :
-"Total bullshit, PC, revisionist story of what happened. Of course most people swallow it hook, line and sinker. What really happened was that an Indian started shooting first. He was admittedly mentally deranged and said something to the effect that he was not going to turn in his gun, that it was his and began shooting--not the US Army. Get that fact in your head. It was a Sioux that started firing. It was an arranged surrender and a mentally ill Sioux started the fire fight. Got it? No, probably not.

The soldiers were composed of mostly young recruits who had heard stories from old timers of the Sioux and how dangerous they were and how if captured they would tortured, etc. Yes, they were incompetent but they were not out to kill the Sioux. They were afraid possibly with reason but mostly it was in their own minds. They were basically poorly trained kids that reacted poorly. When they started taking fire they shot back. Understandable. What did the Sioux do? They ran for cover in the camp where the women and children were and returned fire. Yeah, they hid with the women and children and returned fire."-

After reading your version of what happened at Wounded Knee , I must say that I am simply astonished ! You actually compared the Sioux to terrorists using their women and children as shields ??? You are literally an idiot, I know where you got your information and it was from an HBO movie NOT "history".

With that said , what it WAS about was ; people being persecuted for practicing their religion , in this case "Ghost Dancing" and the soldiers who were from the 7th Cavalry (Custer's old outfit) wanted some "payback" for Little Big Horn . The federal government sent troops in to disarm those cold , starving people who "dared" to "cling to their religion and their guns"....sound familiar ?

The story of Wounded Knee is a story of government oppression and gun control . Socialist and Communist Governments who in the 20th century did the same exact thing , killed over a hundred million people and they did it by : Gun Control . Socialist/Communist ( excuse me I mean "Democrat") politicians like Diane Feinstein and Barack Hussein Obama don't believe that the people they "serve" are competent enough to own weapons and want to do away with that Constitutional right. And it's idiot's like you who are STUPID enough to say "O.K. ".
